Wheat : China. Episode 3 – Preview

The third in our series on wheat.  In the first episode we looked at national security and in the previous episode we looked the droughts in Kansas. Now we are looking at the floods in China – the world’s biggest producer of wheat.

In July 2021 china had terrible floods, followed by heavy rains in September. The heavy rains delayed planting of wheat.  Delayed planting can decrease in  yield by 20%.  China is also also opening up trade to Russia as sanctions are applied because of the war in Ukraine.  As a result wheat in China for 2022 is looking like a complex picure.

Below is brief preview, with the full episode released later this month
